What’s with it were so much young onces nowadays are indulging their selves into the said field? Do cosmetology helps to change your outlook and views about life? Those were some of the questions my mind is up to. Personally, I don’t have an interest about cosmetogoly. But the reason behind why I talk about it is the fact that several young people nowdays are having fun about it. It fact, it helps them a lot as it caters all their needs in a day to day living. In other words, they made cosmetogly as a way of life and living. A source of income for them survive the battle of life.

Learning cosmetology is a matter of choice and passion. It helps you be more conscious about your looks and the way you treat people. Cosmetology is not only about cosmetics and how you use it. Of course beauty school in Wichita will definitely taught you all the way and techniques as to how you transform an ugly face into a beautiful one. But I guess, they’re not only teaching cosmetics painting & designing to their students. They also taught proper approach and customer service to them as it was one of the vital factors to consider in order to gain the trust and loyalty of their customers.

Anyhow, I believed that cosmetology helps change the way you view life in general. Later on when you’ve started and definitely master the techniques and ways of cosmetology painting you might want to say within you that life is beautiful. Why? ‘Cause you’ve given a chance to study cosmetology and extend your knowledge to everyone. Beautify and transform them into a wonderful creature. So, If you guys wants to study cosmetology now is your time and make a difference!

Years ago, a student who misbehaved could have been sent to the back corner of the room and told to stand, back to the class, for a period of time, presumably to consider the consequences of his or her actions. The punishment was for not sitting still in class.

The two key words in that last sentence are sitting still. Increasingly, in classrooms across the U.S., students are doing neither.

Following a trend gaining increasing visibility in offices, some schools are replacing traditional desks and chairs with height-adjustable workstations and stools, so that students can sit, perch, stand, and even fidget at their desks. Students are learning to think on their feet, literally and figuratively.

If, as many doctors insist, it’s not natural for people to sit still for long periods of time, then why not, these schools say, apply that idea to children in classrooms? Speaking of doctors, more than one school is coupling this stand-up approach to learning with a study on student exercise. In a bid to combat childhood obesity, one school in Idaho is taking part in a Mayo Clinic study by issuing pedometers to its students. The students are motivated to rack up ever larger numbers on their pedometers, and they are not discouraged for moving about the classroom.

One particular side benefit identified by a few teachers has been the ability to address the problem of students who literally cannot sit still, for whatever reason. Now, with desks that allow them to stand or perch, they don’t have to just sit.

Money can be a problem, of course, since most schools already have classrooms that accommodate students sitting in chairs at desks. But private funding and fundraising have solved that problem at schools in the Midwest.

Whether students are able to sit on exercise balls or stride on a treadmill at their desks — as is the case in some American offices — remains to be seen. What is the case is that more than ever before, teachers and schools are thinking outside the desk-chair-student-sits box. By: socialstudiesforkids.com

To each little child, so he’ll learn how to live.

A – chievements of goals, while learning the skills,
As he guides him along, his young minds he fills.

T – eaching him discipline as well as moral values,
Surely these are important for future use.

I – nstruction in the Arts, Culture and Sports.
State University this year, just one is 10 years old. That would be Alex Jaeger, who recently scored a 23 on the ACT college entrance exam and enrolled for a full schedule of classes. The second semester of the 2009–2010 school year begins on Jan. 14. Alex will turn 11 later this year.

Jaeger is the son of Wesley and Chasinee Jaeger. Alex’s mother, Chasinee, is from Thailand. Alex and lived in Japan for the first two years of his life. Even then, his parents recall, Alex was an inquisitive child, noticing details and asking questions that other children his age just didn’t ask. When he was in kindergarten, he scored in the 99.9 percentile on the Stanford-Binet, a well-known and well-respected standardized test that assesses intelligence and cognitive abilities. Alex had plenty of both, teaching himself multiplication, division, and fractions before he had finished kindergarten.

Alex quickly showed a high aptitude in mathematics, and his parents decided to homeschool him. He completed the fourth-grade curriculum in 10 weeks. That was in 2006. Since then, Alex has sped through the equivalent of a junior high and high school education.

The more Alex learned, the more he liked to learn and the more his parents wanted to teach him. He began reading from the college-bound reading when he was completing the ninth-grade equivalency.

After learning that Alex had scored the 23 on the ACT (the average college freshman scores 21), they contacted officials at nearby Pittsburg State. (The family now live in rural Cherokee Country, not far away from Pittsburg.)

Alex will take 15 credits this semester, in biology, chemistry, calculus, choir, and piano. One parent will accompany him to every class.

When he’s not studying, Alex will be pursuing his other interests, including swimming, playing the piano, and doing karate.? By: socialstudiesforkids.com

In fact, some are just sending their selves to a beauty school for a personal assessment to boost their self-esteem and gain self-confidence. Reason why some people are using cosmetics is simply because they’re not satisfied of what they look or maybe I guess, some people criticize them which just turns out to a low self-esteem.

Christine Blower, general secretary of the National Union of Teachers, said national tests for 10- and 11-year-olds, formerly known as Sats, contravene the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Under the Convention, which Britain signed in 1991, children are entitled to a broad education which develops their “personalities, talents and abilities to their fullest potential”.

Blower told the NUT annual conference in Liverpool that Sats only gave children the right to pass exams, not the right “to be educated in the round”. They reduced children to “little bundles of measurable outputs trained in a mechanistic model of education,” she said, repeating words used last month by the children’s commissioner, Maggie Atkinson.

Blower said: “The NUT says ‘yes’ to risk-taking and exciting approaches to learning and ‘no’ to children as little bundles of measurable outputs.”

The NUT – the biggest classroom union in England and Wales – is balloting headteachers and their deputies over whether to “frustrate the administration” of the maths and English tests. Another union – the National Association of Head Teachers – is also conducting the ballot. The unions say they are confident that heads will vote to boycott the tests, which are sat by 600,000 children. Their boycott would take place on May 10, days after the next government came into power.

Teachers want ministers to abolish the tests because they argue they are used to compile “meaningless” school league tables. The tables unfairly stigmatise schools with the most challenging pupils, and turn children’s last year of primary school into a repetitive drill for the tests, they say. They want to see Sats replaced by teacher assessment and would accept a system in which only a sample of children were tested.

The ballot ends on April 16.

Labour and the Tories have pledged to keep Sats, although Labour is considering moving to more teacher assessment and the Conservatives argue the tests should be more rigorous and could be sat by pupils in their first year of secondary school.

Blower told teachers: “Together we can ensure that it is teacher assessment… that informs parents and children how they are doing in school and together we can end league tables and Sats.”

Her comments come as MPs on the cross-party schools select committee today published a report that came to the same conclusions.

“The way that many teachers have responded to the Government’s approach to accountability has meant that test results are pursued at the expense of a rounded education for children,” the report – From Baker to Balls: the foundations of the education system – said.

Sats stigmatise and undermine struggling schools by publishing their raw results and dissuade teachers from inventing creative lessons, the report argues. “A better approach would be for the government to place more faith in the professionalism of teachers and to support them with a simplified accountability and improvement system which encourages good practice. If pupils’ attainment is used to judge teachers and schools, teachers cannot be expected to be dispassionate assessors of that attainment, and teaching to the test is a likely consequence. We therefore have reservations as does Ofsted?about the effects of national testing in concentrating teachers’ efforts upon certain areas of the National Curriculum.”

The MPs warned that the government was placing pressure on schools to follow non-statutory guidance and said local authorities needed to keep a closer eye on how teachers were spending school budgets.

They said: “Local authorities should be more involved with monitoring, supporting and, where necessary, intervening in school budgets and finance. It is indefensible that the expenditure of such vast sums should attract so little scrutiny. We do not advocate an erosion of schools’ autonomy, but we consider it important that the correct level of financial support is available to them in order to derive maximum value for money from the schools budget.” By: Jessica Shepherd, education correspondent – guardian.co.uk
