The Advisor: IT tricks…
Posted by wilson on March 7th, 2010
I’ve been testing a PowerPoint presentation on my colleaguesand they say it is too long and complicated. I can trim the length a bit, but it’s still a difficult subject. Any ideas?
Do your best to cut it down, but also help your audience with wayfinding tools. Here are some ideas.
INCLUDE AN AGENDA SLIDE:
This says what is coming up in your presentation, so your audience understands the steucture and what content will be covered.
NUMBER YOUR SLIDES:
You can edit your slide master so that the slide number is “slide X of Y total slides”, which will indicate both how far you’ve come and how far to go.
USE TRANSITION SLIDES:
This acts as a marker for the next stage of your presentation. Use the agenda or contents – list slide, highlighting of flagging the section you’re about to start next:
USE A PROGRESS BAR:
Create a graphic to signify where you are in the presentation – see above.
