Five sentences you never wish to hear!

1. Anything starting or ending with inshallah. We know it’s a harmless enough saying – and a really rather nice one too. But when everyone and anyone adopts the phrase as a get-out clause for any task they’re given, it’s more than a little frustrating. Inshallah on deadline day? We just don’t want to hear it.
2. ” Our office is really easy to find – it’s right near the Etisalat building. ..” Directions aren’t quite as useful when you’re given a landmark that appears every 500 or so yards away from the last near – identical building. It’s about as handy as telling someone to look out for the Starbucks on their left (and quite likely on their right too).
3. ” Are you enjoying living in Dubai? “ No, we’re not, because we don’t. And no Abu Dhabi is not part of Dubai. If you don’t know where in the world we live yet, it’s time to get your head out of a European tabloid and look at a map.
4. ” Look, a camel! “ They’re cute if you happen to be a tourist, or you’ve been in the UAE for, oh, all of 30 minutes. If it happens to be right in front of you, miserably glaring as it’s towed along in the back of a truck; it’s really not such a novelty is it? Now if someone was to exclaim “oh look, an elephant!” we may appreciate the observation.
5. “It’s a bit hot today, isn’t it?” What? Really? You mean you’ve noticed that we’re living in the Middle East and we’re not experiencing freezing conditions and a constant snow fail? When the heat causes the barometer to teeter around the 50 degree celcius mark it’s worth a comment. Otherwise stop complaining and get back to fixing the air conditioning.
This are some of the common sentences were most people here in UAE don’t want to hear. Probably because they’re feed-up to this things already. Okay that’s it for now ’cause I still have to check this quick weight loss solution that I’ve found earlier this day. This might be the one I need for my diet. Enjoy!
