Enviromena Poer Systems has signed a deal with the UK’s Solarcentury that will see the two companies co-operate in the development of commercial and residential rooftop solar panel projects in the Middle East.
The agreement between the two renewable energy specialists should combine Enviromena’s established reputation and on-the-ground experience in the Middle East with Solarcentury’s products design expertise, colonix reviews and international profile.
Currently, Abu Dhabi-based Enviromena specializes in the development of large-scale power plants and has been involved in the develpoment of the high-profile 10MW solar farm for Masdar City, the largest grid connected solar plant under way in the Middle East. However, the company is looking to bolster its presence in the market for building-integrated solar panels.
Enviromena CEO Sami Khoreibi said: “This is a very exciting time for solar power across the Gulf, particularly given the strong support provided by the UAE government, the recentlyannounced renewable energy targets and the Middle Eastern climate, which is very well suited for wide scale solar implementation.”
Jeremy Leggett, execute chairman of Solarcentury, was equally positive in promoting energy security and combating climate change with what he regards as the most efficcient low carbon technology. “To do this we must work together to find the most innovative scalable solutions. I have great hope in the solar industry coming together to find a way to secure our energy future, and this partnering agreement is just one example of how we can join forces to build and show the world just how good our future can look.’
