Keep Little Hands Busy With Sand…

“Its more than just child’s play.”

Most children love going to the beach. However, it probably isn’t that salty water that gets them really excited but the fact that they are going to spend endless hours in a giant sand pit.

Sand play is always fun for children of all ages. In fact, even adults take the time to enjoy the sand in various ways” burying themselves, building sand castles, writing on the sand, etc.

Playing with sand has a therapeutic effect that relaxes and soothes when one begins to allow it to trickle through one’s fingers or to mold wet sand into various forms.

For those little kids, sand play helps in developing fine muscle control and hand-eye coordination. It also enhances learning by giving first hand experience of quantities, weight and capacities. With water and other simple toys like buckets, cups or spoons, it further gives the child freedom to create and mold.

If sand play is so good, can we actually extend this to our home? It actually is a great option for every parents of young kids who are out of ideas for keeping their children busy at home.
